Is CarMargin affiliated with Copart?

No. CarMargin is an independent third-party tool, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Copart UK Ltd or any related entity.

Does CarMargin work outside the UK?

No. CarMargin is built specifically for Copart UK. US Copart, IAA, Manheim, ADESA, and BCA are not supported. UK-only scope is a deliberate product choice. Fee curves, title categories, MOT and DVLA integrations are all UK-specific.

Does CarMargin store my Copart photos?

No. Photos pass through to the AI in memory only and are discarded after the analysis runs. Image bytes are never written to any database. The set of photo URLs is hashed for cache invalidation, but the binaries stay on Copart's CDN.

Does CarMargin scrape Copart?

CarMargin reads what your authenticated browser already shows you on Copart UK. It works inside your Chrome session, the same content you would see manually, just structured. There is no separate server-side fetcher and no shared Copart account.

Can I use CarMargin without an account?

The Chrome extension requires sign-in. Pricing is free during early access; longer-term pricing is being figured out and will be announced before any paid tier ships.

What does the AI actually look at?

On every lot: the photos (panel scoring and structural signals), the listing fields (category, mileage, damage type, notes, highlights), the DVSA MOT history, and the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry data. All four feed a single combined analysis.

How fresh is the analysis?

Every analysis is stamped with the date it was produced and a manual Re-analyze button. The analysis is recomputed automatically when the photo set changes, when the Additional Information notes change, or when it's older than 14 days.

What happens to my chat after the auction ends?

The thread becomes read-only. You can re-read the conversation, but new turns can't be grounded once the underlying analysis is gone. Citations were frozen at write time, so the transcript stays internally consistent. The thread is deleted only on account deletion.

Does CarMargin read my Copart bidding history?

No. The extension only reads the public lot listing data your session is already viewing. Your bidding history, account information, and private Copart data stay between you and Copart.

Is my VRN linked to my account?

No. VRNs are stored on the lot record only, never associated with a user identity in the database. This is a deliberate privacy choice.
