CHAT

Chat with the lot. The AI is looking at the photos with you.

Pinned to every Copart UK lot detail page. Multi-turn, vision-grounded, source-cited. Ask "is the frame bent?" — the answer cites the photo it inspected.

Vision-grounded answers.

The chat has the full lot context loaded as working memory: the photos, the listing fields, the analysis, the repair plan, the risks, and the MOT and DVLA data. Every turn happens with all of that already in front of the model. No copying, no re-pasting.

Source citations on every answer.

Answers cite the photo they looked at, the listing field they read, the MOT advisory they referenced, or the analysis section they drew from. No floaty AI text — every claim has a source you can scroll to.

"Look closer at photo 7."

An image-fetch tool lets the AI request a specific photo on demand and inspect it at full resolution mid-conversation. The extension fetches it from your authenticated Copart session and hands it back. The fetched image lives only in working memory for that turn — never persisted.

Suggested questions, ready to click.

Quick prompts on the side of the chat panel:

  • "Is the rear damage repairable?"
  • "What's the worst-case repair cost?"
  • "Why MAYBE not BUY?"
  • "What should I inspect at preview day?"
  • "Walk me through fixing the front end."
  • "What if I bid £3,500?"

What-if recalculation, inline.

"What if I bid £3,500?" runs the deterministic max-bid solver inline and shows your updated ROI without consuming a new full analysis. Same for changing your transport assumptions or excluding parts from the repair plan. The expensive AI call is reused; only the maths re-runs.

"Explain this verdict."

Verdicts (BUY / MAYBE / SKIP) are deterministic — derived from the analysis plus your settings. Ask the chat to break them down and you get the actual factors that pushed the lot one way or the other. No mystery scoring.

Inspection plan generator.

Going to preview day? Ask the chat for a lot-specific inspection checklist. It pulls together the photo gaps, the suspected hidden damage, the model-known issues, and the MOT advisories into one printable list of things to physically check.

Repair walkthrough.

Step-by-step plan with parts, tools, and labour estimate. Useful for handing to a body-shop quote or for sense-checking your own DIY plan.

Preference-aware.

Your saved settings (target ROI, exclude flood titles, preferred makes, transport budget) are available to the model without restating each turn. The chat already knows whether a Cat S is a deal-breaker for you.

Threads survive the auction.

A chat thread sticks to its lot for as long as the lot is live. When the auction ends, the thread becomes read-only — you keep the conversation, but new turns can't be grounded once the underlying analysis is gone. Citations were frozen at write time, so the transcript stays internally consistent even if photo URLs later 404.

If the analysis updates mid-thread (photos added, notes changed, you clicked Re-analyze), the thread continues with the new context and a system message marks the boundary: "This lot was re-analyzed; context updated." The thread doesn't fork.
